4 paying hospital executives who left their positions for digital health companies



Several hospital and payor executives have stepped down to join digital health companies focused on virtual care and digital transformation since July.

Here are the four frames:

  1. Hayley Burgess, PharmD, has been appointed clinical director of VigiLanz, an EHR clinical monitoring company, the company announced on August 9. Prior to joining VigiLanz, Dr. Burgess was Assistant Vice President of Pharmaceutical Services for HCA Healthcare in Nashville, Tenn.
  2. Saurabha Bhatnagar, MD, has stepped down as Marketing Director of UnitedHealthcare to lead healthcare initiatives at Commure, a healthcare technology startup focused on connecting apps and data used by physicians and patients during the appointment process. Dr Bhatnagar most recently served as Chief Marketing Officer and Head of Digital and Technology at UnitedHealthcare. He currently sits on the board of directors of eHealth Initiative & Foundation, according to a July 20 press release.
  3. Snezana Mahon, PharmD, has been appointed COO of healthcare shipping startup Transcarent, according to a September 2 press release. Ms. Mahoon previously worked as Vice President and General Manager of Care Solutions at the Cigna Evernorth branch.
  4. Adrienne McFadden, MD, has been chosen as chief marketing officer for health navigation startup Buoy Health, according to an August post on LinkedIn. Dr McFadden joins Buoy from Humana, where she was vice president of Medicaid.
