Alexander Payer and Sabine Schoeffmann claim victory in front of their home crowd at Simonhoehe

Alexander Payer and Sabine Schoeffmann thrilled the Simonhoehe crowds with a stunning Snowboard World Cup win in the mixed parallel giant slalom on home snow.

The Austrian duo beat Germans Stefan Baumeister and Melanie Hochreiter in the final, robbing Baumeister of a second triumph in as many days after their success in the men’s parallel giant slalom on Friday.

“Of course it’s a great story,” Payer said. “I think the trophy will be very important in mom’s living room.”
