USQHIN Launches Payers Advisory Working Group

WASHINGTON, DC, Aug 05, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) – The United States QHIN (USQHIN), an innovative national health information network focused on streamlining the exchange of data between states nationwide , today announced the launch of its Payors Advisory Working Group (PATTE).

The PAW is a subgroup of the USQHIN National ADT Hub Network (NAHN). The NAHN aims to fill a critical gap in national interoperability by creating a scalable national ADT asset that does not currently exist. The PAW will bring together significant and sustained contributions from leading national health plans linked to the specific value propositions of the NAHN asset and associated delivery models. In addition, the working group will provide ongoing support, both nationally and within the individual organizations of the working group members, for the vision and mission of NAHN.

“USQHIN fosters important conversations around healthcare, addresses issues facing the industry as a whole, and is dedicated to finding solutions,” said Doug Dietzman, executive vice president of USQHIN. “The NAHN brings together health information exchange (HIE) organizations and ADT service providers across the country to make ADT data ubiquitous, while increasing the quality of the data exchanged. We’re excited to form PAW because payers play a vital role in this conversation. ”

ADT notifications are widely regarded as the backbone of the U.S. healthcare system, supporting public health, population health, coordination of patient care, personal identity, and other essential functions. However, the quality of ADT messages has an impact on the usefulness and the quality of the data can vary widely. PAW members will support NAHN’s efforts to increase the quality of ADT messages available to public and private participants in support of a more standardized and scalable infrastructure across the country.

“The Payers Advisory Working Group is an important part of the work that USQHIN is doing around the nationwide ADT Hub Network,” said Tim Pletcher, DHA, executive director of shared services at Michigan Health Information Network (MiHIN), one of the founding partners of Gateway. by NAHN. “The PAW will further complement these efforts by gathering information directly from major health plans to leverage and align their incentive structures to better enable high-quality ADT message flow. “

Expectations of the Payors Advisory Working Group typically include attending hour-long monthly working group meetings, providing feedback on specific value propositions and the various ADT data needs of the health plan. active NAHN, and to provide input and advice on the NAHN business and operating model as it evolves.
